1,112,532. Cartridge-operated tool. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. 30 March, 1966 [22 April, 1965], No. 16958/65. Heading B4C. A cartridge-operated tool for driving fasteners, such as nails, comprises a cartridge supporting member 13 having a cartridge chamber 14 and a plunger 17 formed with a piston head 5 on which an inclined surface 16 is provided so that when the latter is brought into contact with the rim of cartridge in the chamber the latter is fired. In modifications, the inclined face may be formed on the support member instead of the piston or the cartridge chamber may be provided in the piston head at an angle to the axis of the tool.
