Exhaust-silencers.-The water-jacket a of an exhaust-silencer has a deeply corrugated inner wall c and a central bolt e with circular projections f which direct the exhaust into the corrugations. The bolt e is carried by a perforated plate d, through which the exhaust passes to the outlet b<2>, and the wall c is screwed at its upper end into the expansion chamber b.
