In a roof ventilator, a lightweight dome of a plastic or other lightweight material, slides up a spindle 11 to allow air to flow through apertures 7 in a diaphragm plate 6 in response to air pressure from a fan 2. The dome smoothly deflects the exhaust air to a ring of equally spaced apertures 7. A hingeably mounted cover 4 is provided for access to the fan and motor.
