Abstract

1,112,046. Two-part coupling. HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd. 25 May, 1966 [14 April, 1965], No. 16035/65. Heading H2E. Insulating block 2 carries male or female electrical contact elements (not shown), extending through it from its front 3, 7 to its rear 4, 8, and is surrounded by a casing in two parts. The front part 15, 16, 17 of the casing is hand-rotatable with respect to the block 2 on bearings 22, 26, which are attached to panel 1 or to a separate mounting element (63), (Fig. 5, not shown), and spring-loaded ballbearing 54 co-operates with cavities 55 to click-stop its rotation at spaced positions. Key-ways 58 in rotatable casing 15 ensure that engagement with another connector (not shown) can take place at one relative position of their casings only (the other connector having a casing and contact-carrying block which are relatively rotatable). If, for example, each connector has six possible predetermined angular positions of its rotatable casing and contactcarrying block, rotation of the casing part 15 makes it possible for the connector to receive the other when it is in any of its positions.
