A protective switch for electrical apparatus comprises a hollow metal housing consisting of a lid 10, to which a snap-acting bi-metal strip 13 is secured, and a container 12 having a fixed contact 19a. The two parts 10, 12 are separated by and bonded to a gasket 11.
