Abstract

1,111,096. Retractive switches. BURGESS PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 20 Dec., 1966 [26 Oct., 1965], No. 45270/65. Heading H1N. A snap-action switch has a movable contact arm normally engaging one of a pair of fixed contacts, the arm having a pair of side plates the planes of which are parallel to the direction of movement of the arm, the plates having notches engaging a pivoting edge. In one form, two contact arms 16 joined by a coil tension spring 26 normally bridge contacts 20 and are moved by a plunger 32 to bridge contacts 18. The side plates 22 have notches (28) engaging parts (41) of an activator 30. In an embodiment having a single contact arm. Fig. 6 (not shown), the arm is pivoted on a terminal.
