Abstract

[Also in Division A4] When a slider 18 is engaged with contacts 21, 22, a motor 12, which drives a windscreen wiper, is energized from battery 29 for operation at normal speed. If the slider 18 is returned to engage parking contacts 19, 20, the energization of the motor is maintained through contacts 14, 15, associated with a motor-driven cam 13 until the contact 14 arrives at a non- conductive section of a control track, whereupon the motor is de-energized. A short time afterwards, the cam contacts 15, 16 are earthed to short-circuit the armature of the motor for braking. When contacts 23, 25 are engaged by the slider 18, current is supplied from the battery to a brush 33 so that the-motor operates at an increased speed.
