Abstract

1,109,966. Textile treating apparatus. VEPA A.G. 13 June, 1966 [23 July, 1965], No. 26230/66. Heading D1L. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for the gaseous treatment of material 8 comprises a closed housing 1 subdivided by means of a partition 2 into a fan chamber and a treatment chamber, sieve drums 4 subjected to a suction draft being provided in the treatment chamber and serving as conveying elements, the sieve drums being disposed closely side by side or one above the other to effect automatic material passage from one sieve drum to the next, and the sieve drums also being arranged in at least two rows, at least one row being spaced from the adjacent row by a distance equal to the diameter of the sieve drums, an opening 11 in the partition wall 2 being provided for conducting the gaseous treatment medium from the fan chamber into the space between the said two rows. In a preferred embodiment, a sieve drum is provided at the point of passage of the material from one row of sieve drums to the next. The rows may be arranged vertically or horizontally. Partitions 10 may also be provided in the fan chamber between the fans associated with the separate rows of sieve drums. Easily removable sieve walls 13 may be provided on both sides of the sieve drum rows, and the treatment chamber may be subdivided into several chambers each of which accommodates one row of sieve drums.
