Abstract

An impact and delamination-resistant non-metallic armour member for military use comprises a fabric woven of fibres, e.g. glass fibres, and a hard surfaced thermosetting resin with which the fabric is impregnated, said resin consisting of an amine-cured epoxy resin wherein the epoxy resin is reacted with a compound having reactive amine groups, and said fabric and amine-cured epoxy resin defines a body for which the fabric provides reinforcement comprising 25 to 45% by weight of the body of the amine-cured epoxy resin.
