Abstract

1,056,660. Seals. HENRY BEAKBANE (FORTOX) Ltd. Dec. 4, 1965, No. 51557/65. Addition to 895,006. Heading F2B. A corrugated concertina-type cover for reciprocating machinery parts is built up of sections 10 and 11 joined end to end by a pair of plates 15 and 16 of synthetic resinous material which are sewn to the adjacent section ends and then stuck to each other by an adhesive. The cover is formed by rings 12 of, for example, leather or rubberized fabric which are sewn together to form corrugations. The plates 15 and 16 may be of nylon or a synthetic polyester-terephthalate resin. A guide plate 18, Fig. 3 (not shown), adapted to bear against a shaft passing through the cover and secured by an adhesive to plates 19 and 20 may be provided between the ends of each section.
