Abstract

1,046,331. Conveyer belts. VEUVE G. BOINET ET SES FILS. Jan. 24, 1964 [Jan. 30, 1963], No. 3089/64. Heading B8A. A conveyer belt 1 comprises retaining sides 2 formed by moulding, and either hot or coldbonded to the belt. The sides 2 are moulded with corrugated top edges 3 and the moulding rubber, synthetic elastomer or plastic may be mixed so that one portion is more flexible than another. The belt 1 is prestressed by stretching at the time of bonding the sides 2 thereto, thus prestressing the sides afterwards. Pouches may be formed on the belt 1 by moulded strips 6 having flexible sides 7 which are bonded to the sides 2. In another embodiment the strips 6 may be joined at the top and bottom portions 8 to rigid elements 9 embedded in the sides 2 at the time of moulding. The sides 2 and strips 6 may be reinforced at the time of moulding.
