[Also in Division B4] A plastic shive 22 is removed from a barrel 20 without damaging a surrounding brush 21 by forcing the sharp end 12 of a tool through the shive until a cross-piece 13 of the tool abuts. the shive, and then turning the tool about the cross-piece to lever the shive from its hole. The tool comprises an elongated steel shaft of square cross-section with a hollow handle at one end, and the cross-piece is generally of circular cross-section with two flats 16, 17 extending therealong.
