Abstract

1,107,598. Injection moulding apparatus. R. WUCHER. 26 Aug., 1965 [31 Aug., 1964; 20 April, 1965], No. 36744/65. Heading B5A. A series of moulds 32 mounted on a platform 1 are brought in turn into an injection station by mechanism which reduces the speed of rotation substantially to zero as the injection position is reached. When a toggle (14, 15), Fig. 2 (not shown), is straightened by a ram (20) a ring 10 is rotated through, e.g., 60 degrees, thereby imparting the same movement to the platform 1 by means of a piston 12. This piston engages in one of a series of radial notches 13 in a member 3 secured to the plate 1. For the return movement of the ring 10 the piston 12 is withdrawn by means of a ram 11. The upper moulding die is pressed downwardly by means of a manually operated toggle mechanism 53 acting through legs 58, 59. In Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), rams are provided for the complementary step of compressing the injection moulded soles and/or welts.
