Abstract

A pressure-packed aerosol type spray dispenser contains an insecticide composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion comprising an insecticide, a major proportion of water, a propellant and, as an emulsifying agent, an alkyl phenol ethylene oxide condensate formed from the condensation of 6 to 20 molecules of ethylene oxide per molecule of alklyl phenol, the valve of the dispenser being of the vapour tap type. The insecticide may be pyrethrum plus piperinyl butoxide; the propellant may be butane. The aqueous phase may also contain sodium nitrite as corrosion inhibitor.
