Abstract

1,106,112. Livestock feeding apparatus. CHORE-TIME EQUIPMENT Inc. 21 Jan., 1966, No. 2923/66. Heading A1M. [Also in Division B8] Feeding apparatus for livestock, particularly poultry, comprises a conduit 92 along which feed is conveyed from a hopper (28) by a flexible open-centered auger 106, the feed falling through openings 118 in the conduit into feed pans 144 suspended from the conduit by hangermembers 120 and the auger being connected at one end to drive means and anchored under tension at the other end. The feed passes into pans 144 via cylindrical members 154 fixed to the hangermembers and adjustably supporting a sleeve 156. A circular baffle 157 is located between the wall of the pan and the lower end of sleeve 156. The end pan on a conduit 92 is supported by the housing supporting the auger driving motor and is provided with sensing means operating switch means for stopping the motor when the end pan and its corresponding members 154, 156 are full. A number of conduits 92 are located within a livestock house and their corresponding hoppers (28) are filled from an external storage bin by a flexible auger extending through a tube which passes above the hoppers and communicates therewith via flexible tubes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 915,493.
