Abstract

The food distributor comprises a wheeled chassis (1, 6) moving over the top (5) of the cages (8), pulled by a cable. This chassis has a hopper (2) on each side, feeding (3) into a system of tubes (4) which discharge at several levels into food troughs (7). Inside each hopper is a roller, rotated by a motor through adjustable ratio gearing. Each roller has a number of indents or grooves along its length. These cooperate with a shutter which can be adjusted to alter the delivery opening. Mixer arms are also provided to prevent blocking of the hoppers.
