Abstract

1,105,757. Radiant burners. CALORIC INTERNATIONAL Inc. 25 Oct., 1966, No. 47774/66. Heading F4T. A radiant gas burner comprises a plate 10 having an opening 12, a domed gas receiving member 14 above the plate and a domed foraminous screen member 16 below the plate, the flat marginal portions of the plate 10 and the members 14 and 16 abutting each other with the marginal portion of member 14 being extended to wrap around and enclose the edges of the corresponding marginal portions of the plate 10 and member 16. The marginal portions may also be spot welded together. Some of the metal severed to form opening 12 is bent to form a baffle 50 and a further baffle 36 is attached to plate 10 below the opening. Baffle 36, Fig. 10, includes bottom wall 38, side walls 40 and end wall 42, all of which are apertured to distribute the gas. The member 14 extends beyond one end of the plate and is enclosed on its bottom side by a plate 62 which has a lip 64 underlying the marginal portion 34 of the screen member.
