Abstract

980,441. Radiation gas burners. GETZ BROS. & CO. Inc. March 30, 1961 [March 30, 1960], No. 11298/60. Heading F4T. The metal mesh combustion screen 12 of an infra-red gas heater is supported in U-shaped grooves 22 formed integrally in the heater housing. The screen is mounted in a rectangular opening in the housing and the grooves are formed in the two long sides and one short side of the opening. A removable strip 24 is secured by screws to the other short side to hold the edge of the screen. The screen comprises two layers of gauze supported by a grid. A further screen 20 is disposed below the combustion screen 12 and is detachably secured by split rings to ridges on the housing. A mixture of gas and air is supplied to the housing by an integral tubular part 8. A perforated baffle 10 distributes the mixture.
