Abstract

1,146,400. Flameless combustion burners. METTERS Ltd. 30 March, 1967 [21 Oct., 1966], No. 14421/67. Heading F4T. A burner used for grilling comprises two shell members each formed with an elongate aperture 16 and being secured together by flanges around their periphery 15 and the periphery 19 of the apertures to form two internal compartments, the lower shell being formed with openings 24 and 25 covered by refractory or gauze members 26, 27 on the outer surface of which a gas/air mixture burns after passing into the burner through inlet 22. The gas/air mixture is dispersed by a baffle 30 and the spacing between the shells increases from the perimeter towards the aperture 16.
