Abstract

Spray-dried soap powders comprise, by weight of the powder, 30-60% soap, 2.5-20% sodium tripolyphosphate, and 1-10% of a neutralized sulphation product of an ethylene oxide adduct of a C10- 22 aliphatic alcohol, wherein up to 20 ethylene oxide units are present, and the neutralizing cation is an alkali metal (Na specified), ammonium or substituted ammonium ion. The tripolyphosphate may be partially degraded to sodium pyrophosphate and sodium orthophosphate during spray-drying. In an example, sodium carbonymethyl cellulose, anhydrous alkaline silicate and sodium perborate are also present.
