Abstract

1,104,974. Hydraulic accumulators. K. SUGIMURA. Aug. 2, 1965 [Nov. 26, 1964], No.32944/65. Heading F1P. The inner wall of the rigid outer longitudinal casing 1, Fig. 1a, of a hydraulic accumulator of the gas filled bladder type has an annular transverse groove 9 which is connected by casing bores 12, 12' to a pressure gauge and a hydraulic pressure source respectively and is covered by a ring 11 having a plurality of equally spaced ports 10 through which the fluid-pressure gains access to the exterior of the bladder 4. On a reduction of hydraulic pressure accompanied by expansion of the bladder, the ports 10 are closed by discs 13 secured to the outer wall of said bladder. In a modification ports 10, Fig. 3b are closed by resilient tongues 14 projecting inwardly of a ring 15 within the ring 11. In a further modification the ports 10, Fig. 7a (not shown) are closed when a split ring 17 is expanded by the bladder.
