Abstract

1,103,733. Fences; gates. E. JOHNSTON. 8 June, 1966 [10 June, 1965], No. 24499/65. Heading E1B. A fencing section or gate is moulded or otherwise formed from resin-bonded glass-fibre to provide palings 11 integral with rails 10. The ends 14, 15 of the rails are inserted in slotted posts, Fig. 3 (not shown) and bonded therein, each post being also of resin-bonded glass fibre and incorporating a base-plate (16) below ground. The glass fibre is bonded with polyester resin, which may be coloured, and a small amount of plastics foam may be incorporated at appropriate places. The palings 11 may be flat, oval or circular. In a modification the fencing section comprises a plain sheet thickened locally to provide rails and palings.
