Abstract

1450390 Fencing; crash and anti-dazzle barriers W G CASTELL 20 Feb 1974 [21 Nov 1972] 53731/72 Headings E1B and E1G A roadside crash and anti-dazzle barrier comprises a lattice fence whose horizontal elements 8, Fig. 5, are bonded to vertical elements 9, each element being of plastics at at least the horizontal elements being reinforced with longitudinal continuous synthetic filaments. As shown in Fig. 5 the elements 8 are cylindrical and are bonded to the faces of flat strip elements 9. In a modification the strips 9 pass through slits in the elements 8. In further modifications each horizontal element comprises a corrugated strip 1A, Fig. 1, bonded at 2 to an opposed flat or corrugated strip 18 to provide vertical slits in which are bonded the vertical strips 4. The fence may be supported on stanchions or lamposts, may carry an additional anti-dazzle screen of thin sheet plastics, and may be coloured to indicate hazards. For Figures see next column
