Abstract

110,368. Stirling, D. R. July 12, 1916. Flame-producing weapons.-Consists in heating the liquid fuel in a coil C provided with inlet and cutlet cocks B, E and arranged inside a water container D heated externally by blow-lamps M, coal, wood, or waste. The heated fuel is directed by a three-way cock G back to the tank or elsewhere until the thermometer F indicates that the correct temperature is attained, when the cock G is turned to supply the fuel through a branchpiece N to a number of burners. The arrangement shown is for supplying fuel to furnace burners; when it is used for warfare, the branchpiece N is substituted for the burner I.
