Abstract
1462260 Preventing corrosion; burning liquid waste; burners MINERALOL-UND FILTERTECHNIK GmbH 20 June 1974 [20 June 1973] 27489/74 Headings F4B and F4T In a fluid heating furnace having heat exchange surfaces 12, the burner 7 is fed with liquid waste or oil producing corrosive flue gases or with fuel which produces non-corrosive flue gases according to the temperature in the outlet flue so that the heat exchange surfaces do not fall below the dew point temperature of the corrosive gases while the fuel producing them is being burned. A temperature sensor 14 controls a valve 9, which may be a change over valve or a mixing valve so that clean fuel is supplied to the burner 7, either instead of or in combination with corrosive producing fuel, when the temperature of the heat exchange surface falls. The two fuels may be fed to separate burners. The working fluid of the heater may be oil.
