Abstract

1,103,528. Multiple gear pump for melt spinning composite filaments. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 6 April, 1966 [14 April, 1965], No. 15293/66. Heading B5B. A multiple gear pump for melt spinning composite filaments comprises a common driving shaft (illustrated at 1 in the drawing) which is divided into three interconnected sections and has keyed to it the driving gear-wheels 2, 3 and 4 of three pump sets. The driving gear-wheel 2 and a driven gear-wheel 5 accommodated in a shell housing 6 constitute one of the pump sets consisting in this case of a single gear pump. The gear-wheel 5 is rotatably mounted on a shaft 7 fixedly mounted in a front plate 8 and an intermediate plate 9. The driving gear-wheel 3 drives two other gear-wheels 10 and 11 of the second pump set which consists of two gear pumps accommodated in a shell housing 12. Shafts 13 and 14 on which the gear-wheels 10 and 11 are rotatably mounted are fixedly mounted in intermediate plates 15 and 16. The driving gear-wheel 4 drives the four gear-wheels 17 to 20 of the third pump set which consists of four gear pumps accommodated in the shell housing 27. Shafts 21 to 24 on which the gearwheels 17 to 20 are rotatably mounted are fixedly mounted in an intermediate plate 25 and a back plate 26. The feed of melt to the pumps is indicated by the broken lines 28, 30, 33 and the discharge of melt from the pumps is shown by the dash-dot lines 29, 31, 32 and 34 to 37.
