Abstract
110,065. Quasi-Arc Co., and Cole, W. L. Dec. 19, 1916. Branches and mains, connecting.-Pipe joints are made by cutting a hole c in the one pipe a of the same size as the inside diameter of the second pipe b, and cutting the end of the latter to a form corresponding to the outside curvature of the pipe a. The pipes are then joined by a fillet of welding metal c which draws them tightly together on cooling. The pipes may be cut on a pillar-type drilling machine or on a lathe, little modification being needed therein to cut the pipes suitable for joining at angles other than a right-angle.
