Abstract
An alloy comprises .Cr.22-35% .C.3.5-6% .B.0.5-2.0% .Si.0-6% .Mn.0-4% .Ni.0-8% the balance being iron A powder of the alloy may be made by atomizing a homogeneous melt and the powder so obtained applied as a hard-surfacing alloy by flame spraying on to ferrous surfaces. Alternatively a powder mixture of the elemental materials may be used.
