Abstract

1284600 Spraying metals EUTECTIC CORP 31 Dec 1969 63504/69 Headings C7A and C7F A worn part, e. g. a welded nail joint, is preheated to a temperature which will not affect the hardness of the adjoining areas and then flame sprayed with a metal which has the same hardness as the adjoining metal. The spray metal may be one of the following alloys:-(1) Cr 2.5 to 20, Si 0À5 to 6.0, B 0.5 to 5À0, Fe 0À2 to 6.0, C 0À01 to 0À85, Ni balance, (2) Si 1.0 to 6À0, B 0.5 to 5À0, Fe 0 to 3.0, C 0.01 to 0.35, Ni balance, (3) B 0.7 to 3À5, Si 1.0 to 4.0, Fe 0 to 0.7, C 0À01 to 0.35, Ni balance, (4) Ni 0À1 to 4.0, Cr 23 to 30, Si 0À2 to 2.5, B 0À7 to 4.0, Fe 0.2 to 3.0, C 0.5 to 2.5, W 0.5 to 8.0, Co balance, and (5) Cr 22 to 35, C 3.5 to 6.0, B 0.5 to 2À0, Si up to 6.0, Mn up to 4.0, Ni up to 8.0, Fe balance.
