[Also in Division B5] Hollow articles, e.g. containers, may be filled with a product, e.g. a liquid which may be sufficiently hot to heat and soften the thermoplastic material from which it is made. The containers are produced by hermetically sealing both ends of a tubular preform, e.g. by lids at top and bottom, before, after or during which it is heated to a deformable condition, and then moving the closed ends towards or away from each other to shape the article by deformation while maintaining the hermetic seal, and allowing it to cool and set. Deformation may be confined to certain portions by heating only local portion(s) or by the use of restricting rings or bands.
