1340676 Plastics containers METAL BOX CO Ltd 2 July 1971 [29 April 1970] 20517/70 Heading B8D [Also in Division B5] A container made of resilient molecularlyorientated plastics is heated in a selected zone to re-orientate the molecules and thereby control the deformation which results from reduction of internal pressure after the container has been sealed, e.g. due to hot contents heating or swelling of the container by its contents. The heating causes flattening of curved zones. In the embodiments waisted blow-moulded bottles are moved, by a rope conveyer engaging their bases, past a nozzles which direct hot air on to diametrically opposed zones.
