1,099,840. Illuminated signs. T. P. H. RICHARDSON. Oct. 24, 1966 [Dec. 7, 1965], No. 51767/65. Heading G5C. An edge illuminated sign comprises a sheet of transparent material 1 releasably attached to a housing 2 containing a light source 5 and a manually-operable switch 4 controlling the connection between the source 5 and a source of electric supply, e.g. a battery 7. Access to the bulb and to the battery is provided by removal of screws 10 and 12 and withdrawal of end plates 2b and 2c. The housing may be fitted with a dimmer switch and the sheets may snap-fit into the housing.
