1,098,597. Universal joints. DOWTY FUEL SYSTEMS Ltd. March 18, 1966 [March 9, 1965], No. 10020/65. Headings F2U and F2V. An Oldham-type universal joint which provides for axial movement of the joint members comprises an intermediate member 24 having rollers 28 co-operating with guide faces 31 on legs 17-20 of a driving member, the intermediate member 24 having rollers 33 mounted in axial slots 34 formed in a driven member, the rollers 33 sliding transversely of the slots 34 and rolling axially along the slots. The intermediate member is fixed axially relative to the driving member. The joint may be employed in the drive to an axially slidable valve spool which is rotated to minimise friction.
