Abstract
1,097,695. Current and voltage measurement; vacuum gauges. L.R. GRAHAM. June 16, 1966 [March 18, 1965], No.11596/65. Headings G1N and G1U. A thermal converter, wherein a thermocouple adjacent a resistance element produces an output voltage proportional to the r. m. s. of an input signal to the resistance element, has a resistor connected in series or shunt in such a way as to compensate for changes in the thermocouple output caused by changes in ambient temperature. The series or shunt resistor may be arranged to compensate also for the temperature coefficient of the meter connected to the output of the converter. For current or voltage measurement the assembly is contained in a sealed envelope. Alternatively the system may be contained in an open envelope for use in a vacuum gauge head.
