Abstract

1,097,337. Face masks. BRITISH AIRGRAFT CORPORATION (OPERATING) Ltd. Jan. 21, 1965 [Jan. 24, 1964], No. 3220/64. Heading A5T. An oxygen mask unit for an aircraft comprises a mask having a mouthpiece 6 and head harness formed of straps 8, 10, 12, and a holder 2 mountable in an aircraft, which holder releasably engages the sides of the mask so that the mask can be pulled from the holder. The mouthpiece 6 is pivotally connected to the hardness by pins 16. The mask may be held in the holder by the pins 16 engaging in slots 18 in the holder and held therein by springloaded catches, or the holder or harness may be resilient such that the mask is a push fit in the holder. A microphone may be present in the mouthpiece.
