Abstract

1,096,638. Photographic processing. FUJI SHASHIN FILM KABUSHIKI KAISHA. June 22, 1966 [June 23, 1965], No.27979/66. Heading G2A. Light-sensitive elements are processed by passing them through a tank containing contacting layers of at least two processing solutions having different specific gravities. The processing solution layer arrangement may be developer/ fixer; developer/bleach/developer, for reversal development; or developer/stabilizer. A waterrinsing layer may also be included. The top layer may be covered by a liquid paraffin layer to prevent oxidation, and an inert solution may be used as an intermediate layer to keep the processing layers separated. The tank may be a straight tube or a U-tube, and processing solutions may be prevented from leaking from the lower ends thereof by elastic rollers or sponges through which the elements pass, after processing.
