Abstract

<PICT:1095801/C6-C7/1> A steel-making installation comprises at least two converters 7, 8 each mounted on a bogie truck for travelling around a circulatory track 1, 2 and tiltable on its truck whereby charging with raw materials, refining and tapping can be effected on the truck whilst passing through a raw materials charging station e.g. 3 for scrap and 4 for molten pig iron, a blowing station 5 and a tapping station 6, arranged in series. At least four travelling converters on two circulatory tracks may be used. Relining of each converter may be effected by pulling its truck out from the circulatory track through a junction 9, 10.
