Abstract
1,094,909. Making bubble packs. AMERICAN PACKAGING CORPORATION. May 27, 1965, No. 22619/65. Heading B8C. [Also in Division B5] Two cards 11 (Fig. 3) forming opposite faces of a bubble pack are fed by sliding on at least one card edge to a station where they are sealed together about an article 13. In the form illustrated the cards are fed along an upright groove (60) (Fig. 1, not shown) by a reciprocating pusher 61, the stroke of which can be varied to suit cards of different sizes. A limit switch operated when the card reaches the proper position causes two sealing platens 22, 23 to be swung together and heated for an adjustable predetermined time. Finished packages are pushed from the groove by the subsequent packages. The card may be inclined to the vertical (Fig. 7, not shown) to make it easier for an operator to insert the article. The package may be as described in Specification 966,625.
