Claims (1)

14. IN A MACHINE FOR CONTINUOUSLY PACKAGING ARTICLES IN SEPARATE SEALED PACKAGES FOMED OF PLASTIC FILM OF THE TYPE ADAPTED TO SEAL WITH ITSELF UPON CONTACT, A SUPPORTING STRUCTURE, UPPER AND LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS TRAVELING ON SAID STRUCTURE AT THE SAME SPEED FOR ADVANCING SHEETS OF SAID FILM SO THAT ONE FILM OVERLIES THE OTHER FILM AT A PACKAGING ZONE, SAID LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS SUPPORTING SAID OTHER FILM IN A GENERALLY HORIZONTAL PLANE SO THAT ARTICLES TO BE PACKAGED MAY BE CARRIED ON THE FORMER IN LONGITUDINAL SPACED-APART RELATION, THE IMPROVEMENT COMPRISING, SAID UPPER AND LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS EACH INCLUDING FIRST AND SECOND MEANS FOR PHYSICALLY PRESSING AND VACUUM DRAWING, RESPECTIVELY SAID FILM TOGETHER AROUND THE ARTICLES AS THE UPPER AND LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS PASS THROUGH SAID ZONE THEREBY FORMING SEPARATE SEALED PACKAGES, SAID SECOND MEANS INCLUDING CAM ACTUATED VALVE MEANS, SAID LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS BEING ADAPTED TO ADVANCE THE SEALED TOGETHER FILMS TO A CUTTING ZONE WHICH INCLUDES OVERHEAD MOUNTED CUTTING MEANS FOR SEVERING THE FILMS THEREBY DISCONNECTING THE PACKAGES FROM EACH OTHER, WHICH LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS FOR TEMPORARILY HOLDACTUATED VALVE MEANS WHICH COOPERATE WITH SAID SECOND MEANS TO THE LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS FOR TEMPORARILY HOLDING SAID OTHER FILM ON THE LOWER DIE PLATE MEANS UNTIL THE FILMS HAVE BEEN SEVERED.
