Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A web-roll 1 on a core 2 is clamped on a spindle 3, having a larger diameter portion 17, between a back plate 4 and a tapered ring 5. A semicircular toggle clamp 10 with a handle 11 is pivoted at 8, 9 on the diameter of a ring 7 threaded on to a portion 6 of the spindle 3. The ring 5 is provided with two slots 16, Fig. 1 (not shown), so that when the toggle clamp is in the open position, Fig. 3 (not shown), the ring 5 can be rotated and removed from the spindle 3 over the toggle clamp. The spindle is mounted on a block (not illustrated) which slides between two parallel rails 12 and 13, Fig. 1. A knurled knob is used to adjust the transverse position of the spindle and therefore the web-roll, relative to the block.
