Abstract
1,093,288. Overhead cranes in mines. BERGBAUSTAHL G.m.b.H. & CO. June 21, 1965 [June 20, 1964], No. 26045/65. Heading B8B. A beam 3, which is supported from roof-supports 20-24 in a mine tunnel, has a hoisting-rope 4 passing from a winch 5 over pulleys 31, 15 to a load-hook 35. The beam may be advanced along the tunnel as digging proceeds by slackening clamps which attach it to the roof-supports and urging it forwards by means of the hoisting rope which is passed round a pulley 30 on one of the supports. The beam is then clamped to supports 26-29. The beam 3 is of channel section, Fig. 2, (not shown), and is attached to supports 1 by clamps 10. The hooks 35 are shaped to facilitate lifting roof sections 6, Fig. 1, (not shown). Two ropes may be wound on a single winch.
