Abstract
1,092,080. Automatic circuit - breakers. STOTZ-KONTAKT G.m.b.H. Sept. 13, 1966 [May 7, 1966], No. 40908/66. Heading H2B. In a combined thermal and electromagnetic cut - out switch the magnet 4, Fig. 2, is mounted on the end of the bimetallic thermal strip 2 and the latch 7 retaining the trip 10 of the switch contacts is actuated independently by the magnetic trigger arm 5 and by the thermal strip 2. A lug 8 on the armature 5 engages the latch 7 after dead stroke b whereby the latch 7 is released by impact. A lug 9 on an extension of the latch 7 is engaged by the thermal strip 2 for release of the latch. A further lug 15 on the magnetic armature 5 operates to limit the maximum distance a between the magnet 4 and armature 5 as the thermal strip 2 moves. A push-button 12 is provided for manual release.
