Abstract

109,122. Bamber, C. Kelway-. Sept. 15, 1916. Cells.-A cell of the LeclanchÚ type is provided with a cover 1 which is pressed tightly to the cell by the weight of the porous pot 3 which is suspended from the cover, the cover being formed with an opening through which passes a head 5 formed on the porous pot. The head 5 is formed with a groove to receive a rubber ring 6 which rests on the top of the battery cover and so supports the porous pot. A rubber ring 11 surrounds a reduced portion 10 of the cover and forms a tight joint between the cover and the cell. A second opening in the cover receives a split cork or plug 7 through which the terminal wire 9 of the zinc element 4 passes.
