Abstract

851,253. Batteries. NING, T. Nov. 26, 1958 No. 38145/58. Class 53 A dry cell is closed by a metal contact plate 9, the periphery of which is enclosed in an insulating band 10. Below the plate 9 is an insulating disc 7 which is sealed to an insulating ring 6 which tightly embraces the electrode 2. The periphery of the disc 7 is passed round the band 10, and the rim of the container 1 is bent over the periphery of disc 7 and the band 10, Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the metal contact plate 18 is sealed into an insulating closure disc 20, the periphery of which is enclosed in an insulating band 21 held in place by a beading 24 on the cell container. A wax or asphalt ring 27 abuts against the disc 20 to prevent liquid from the cell reaching the plate 18.
