Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1090633/C4-C5/1> wherein X, Y1 and Y2 are hydrogen, halogen or an alkyl or alkoxy radical of 1-5 carbon atoms. The compounds are prepared by reducing the corresponding nitro compounds, e.g. by acid stannous chloride, iron powder under Bechamp conditions, zinc and glacial acetic acid, alkaline ferrous hydroxide, alkaline glucose, zinc and dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide, aqueous sodium hydrosulphite, aqueous sodium or potassium sulphide, ammonium sulphide or a zinc dust/ethanol mixture.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1090633/C2/1> wherein X, Y1 and Y2 are hydrogen, halogen or an alkyl or alkoxy radical of 1-5 carbon atoms. The compounds are prepared by reducing the corresponding nitro compounds, e.g. by acid stannous chloride, iron powder under B<\>aechamp conditions, zinc and glacial acetic acid, alkaline ferrous hydroxide, alkaline glucose, zinc and dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide, aqueous sodium hydrosulphite, aqueous sodium or potassium sulphide, ammonium sulphide or a zinc dust/ethanol mixture.
