Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1090635/C4-C5/1> where X, Y1 and Y2 are H, halogen or alkyl or alkoxy of 1-5 carbon atoms and Z is a nitro group. The compounds are prepared by reacting nitric acid with the corresponding compounds wherein Z is H or alkanoyl of 2-6 carbon atoms. The compounds wherein Z is H may be produced by hydrolysing and decarboxylating the compounds where Z is COOR and R is an alkyl group of 1-6 carbon atoms.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1090635/C2/1> where X, Y1 and Y2 are H, halogen or alkyl or alkoxy of 1-5 carbon atoms and Z is a nitro group. The compounds are prepared by reacting nitric acid with the corresponding compounds wherein Z is H or alkanoyl of 2-6 carbon atoms. The compounds wherein Z is H may be produced by hydrolysing and decarboxylating the compounds where Z is COOR and R is an alkyl group of 1-6 carbon atoms.
