Abstract

1,089,926. Thermometers. ACCURATE CONTROLS Ltd. Oct. 10, 1966 [Oct. 8, 1965], No. 42859/65. Heading G1D. A remote indicating thermometer comprises an indicating bellows 1 and a compensating bellows 2, the two bellows being interconnected at adjacent ends by a ball crank lever 13 the other end of the indicating bellows 1 being coupled by way of a toothed quadrant 10 to move an indicator needle 11. The bellows 1 is connected by capillary tubing 3 to a thermometer bulb 4, whilst the bellows 2, the other end of which is fixed, is connected to compensating tubing 6 which runs side-by-side with the tubing 3. The tubing 6 may be connected, if desired, to a second bulb so that the thermometer will measure the temperature differential between the bulbs, and the indicating bellows 1 may be used to operate switches or variable resistances to effect automatic control of temperature.
