Abstract
Powdered refractory titanium boride, boron nitride carbides and silicides are hot pressed in graphite dies in a tubular electric furnace (see Division H5). Pressure is applied by relatively movable end surfaces and heat is applied first to a centre zone of the powdered mass and then to the ends gradually extending the zone longitudinally outwards.
