Abstract

Refractories of 99-1% metal carbide and 1-99% aluminium nitride are prepared by mixing the finely divided ingredients and fabricating by known methods, e.g. cold pressing, ramming or slip casting followed by sintering, or hot pressing. Silicon, boron, titanium and chromium carbides are specified. Hot pressing temperatures specified are 1950-2250 DEG C. Specification 952,553 is referred to.
