Abstract

1,088,048. Valves. AVON RUBBER CO. Ltd. Dec. 29, 1964, No. 4638/66. Divided out of 1,088,047. Heading F2V. A valve for an inflatable craft has a by-pass body 10 with a bonded-rubber flange and a threaded plastics multi-ported seat 24 with manipulating lugs 26, a shoulder on which abuts the body 10 through a rubber washer 42; a valve diaphragm 34 is secured to the seat by a boss 36. The diaphragm may be manually unseated upon depressing a rubber finger 40. A cap 28 with a rubber washer 50 must be removed before the valve is accessible from outside the craft; strings secure the cap and seat to the craft. Rapid deflation is effected by removing the combined seat and diaphragm unit. Projections 18 maintain an air passage to the valve when the craft collapses during deflation.
